High-Temperature Superconducting Magnetic-Controlled Silicon Single-Crystal Growth Technology Successfully Passes Professional Appraisal

Recently, the high-temperature superconducting magnet-controlled silicon single-crystal growth technology successfully passed a professional appraisal. The appraisal meeting was chaired by the China Electrotechnical Society and organized by Ningxia Superconducting Pan-Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. During the meeting, an expert committee led by Academician Gan Zizhao of the Chinese Academy of Sciences conducted a comprehensive evaluation and unanimously concluded that this technology fills multiple gaps in China’s high-end silicon crystal manufacturing sector, with its comprehensive performance reaching an internationally leading level.
Since 2021, Shanghai Superconductor and Lianovation Superconductor have established a close partnership to jointly advance the innovation and application of superconducting technology. As the core material supplier for Lianovation Superconductor, SST has provided over 1,000 kilometers of high-performance HTS tapes, which have been used to wind superconducting magnets for HTS induction heating devices and HTS magnet-controlled silicon single-crystal growth equipment, laying a solid material foundation for the project’s success.
The successful appraisal marks a milestone in China’s industrialization of superconducting technology, recognizing both the technical achievements of Lianovation Superconductor’s R&D team and the stable, large-scale supply collaboration between SST and Lianovation. Moving forward, SST will continue to drive technological innovation, leverage its mass-production capabilities, and work with customers to expand the application of superconducting technology in more fields.
