SHEITC Visits SST: Focusing on Ecosystem Cultivation and Chain-Based Development of High-Temperature Superconducting Industry

On January 8, Ms. Zhang Ying, Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization(SHEITC), led a delegation to visit Shanghai Superconductor Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “SST”). The group toured the exhibition hall and production workshop, followed by a symposium to discuss the company’s development, industrial chain integration and the cultivation of industrial ecosystems.


Ms. Zhang listened carefully to SST’s introduction on its business operations and strategic planning, responded to the company’s requests, and engaged in an in-depth discussion on the direction of industrial development, exploration of application scenarios, and the cultivation of industrial ecosystems.

Ms. Zhang noted that high-temperature superconductivity is a cutting-edge technology actively pursued globally, with vast potential for applications in power transmission and distribution, nuclear fusion and other fields. Thanks to the support from relevant departments in Shanghai, SST has grown into a world-leading supplier of high-temperature superconducting tapes. SHEITC will continue to provide services to support SST’s development by focusing on chain-based development to promote collaboration across the upstream and downstream of the industry, application validation to create a high-temperature superconducting test field by exploring application scenarios, and ecosystem cultivation to plan the layout of high-temperature superconducting industries around energy equipment.

Participants in the visit included relevant officials from the SHEITC’s Office, Division of New Materials, Divison of Industrial Parks and Structural Adjustment, Pudong New Area Science and Economics Commission and Zhangjiang Administration.
