Recent Events Review: Shanghai Superconductor Attends Several Prestigious Industry Conferences

Recently, Shanghai Superconductor has been invited to participate in several high-profile industry conferences. These include the 11th Annual Academic Conference of the Radiation Effects Branch of the Chinese Nuclear Society in 2024, the 23rd “Practical High-Temperature Superconducting Materials Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Group” and the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ B-Class Leading Special Project “Key Science and Technology of Next-Generation High-Field Superconducting Magnets” joint meeting, as well as the 2024 International Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC 2024). Through various forms such as conference presentations and booth exhibits, Shanghai Superconductor actively engaged with numerous experts, scholars, and customers in the industry to discuss the development trends and application promotion of high-temperature superconducting materials.

 

 

| 01. 11th Annual Academic Conference of the Radiation Effects Branch of the Chinese Nuclear Society (2024)

From August 21st to 23rd, the Second National Membership Congress and the 2024 Annual Academic Conference of the Radiation Effects Branch of the Chinese Nuclear Society was held in Xi’an. Themed “Advancing Research on Irradiation Effects of Fuel and Materials for Broader Application Scenarios,” the conference gathered numerous academicians and over 300 scientific professionals from research institutes, universities, and corporations worldwide

The Annual Academic Conference of the Radiation Effects Branch of the Chinese Nuclear Society is an influential event in the field of nuclear fuel and material irradiation effects. As a participant, Shanghai Superconductor(SST) had the opportunity to gain insights into the irradiation effects on key reactor materials and the current mainstream research directions. SST also engaged in discussions on the performance changes and service capabilities of superconducting materials under irradiation.

 

 

| 02. 23rd “Practical High-Temperature Superconducting Materials Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Group” and the Chinese Academy of Sciences' B-Class Leading Special Project “Key Science and Technology of Next-Generation High-Field Superconducting Magnets” Joint Meeting

The meeting was held in Jinan from August 31st to September 1st, attended by several academicians and nearly a hundred academic backbones from universities and research institutes. The main content of the meeting focused on the recent advancements in the B-Class Leading Special Project “Key Science and Technology of Next-Generation High-Field Superconducting Magnets” and the “Practical High-Temperature Superconducting Materials Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Group,” as well as the latest progress of various projects.

  

Shanghai Superconductor was honored to be invited to this meeting, where it engaged in discussions with attending experts and scholars about the company's R&D advancements, stable mass production and supply status, and the progress of its comprehensive expansion plans.

 

 

| 03 Applied Superconductivity Conference, ASC 2024

The Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC 2024) was successfully held in Salt Lake City, USA, on September 1, 2024. The conference was divided into three main sections: superconducting electronics, superconducting materials, and superconducting applications, focusing on the exploration of large-scale applications in fields such as superconducting magnets, superconducting cables, high-energy physics, nuclear fusion, life sciences, medical applications, and energy transportation, as well as advancements in the fabrication, characterization, and industrial production of superconducting materials. The ASC conference is one of the largest and most authoritative gatherings in the field of applied superconductivity worldwide, bringing together top superconductivity experts and scholars from around the globe.

Shanghai Superconductor was honored to be invited to exhibit at the conference. Dr. Zhu Jiamin, the CEO, delivered an oral presentation, announcing the successful achievement of SST's 2000km annual production capacity and its future leadership initiative. He also highlighted the company’s latest research outcomes and technological innovations. He emphasized that the core competitiveness of Shanghai Superconductor lies in its unique technological processes, efficient production capabilities, and technical services, along with accumulated project experience in superconducting applications.

Additionally, Shanghai Superconductor's booth at the conference showcased the progress of its expansion, a comprehensive quality control system, and the use of tapes in multiple superconducting application demonstration projects.
