Shanghai Superconductor and Hefei International Applied Superconductivity Center signed strategic cooperation agreement

On May 8, 2023, the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation between Shanghai Superconductor Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Superconductor”) and Hefei International Applied Superconductivity Center (hereinafter referred to as “Superconductivity Center”) was held in Shanghai. Mr. Liu Huajun, Executive Director of the Superconductivity Center, Mr. Han Xiaofeng, Deputy Director of the Major Special Projects Office of the Institute of Plasma of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Mr. Ma Tao, Chairman of Shanghai Superconductor, and Dr. Zhu Jiamin, president of Shanghai Superconductor, attended the signing ceremony.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Ma Tao introduced Shanghai Superconductor's research and development capabilities and current technologies in second-generation high-temperature superconductor, major customers and the application prospects of the global superconductivity market. Mr. Liu Huajun introduced the key technologies, experience accumulation and industrial base advantages of Hefei Superconductivity Center.

Chairman Ma Tao and President Liu Huajun signed the contract on behalf of both parties. The two parties will focus on high-temperature superconducting materials as a breakthrough, giving full play to their respective advantages to conduct joint research in the field of superconducting materials and magnet R&D. They aim to promote the development of superconducting industrialization. Both parties will also build and cultivate innovative R&D platforms and high-level and cutting-edge talents and work together to grow into a global high-quality supplier of overall solutions for high-temperature superconducting magnets.
